Biographical History

Slovakian author and distributor of Catholic Americana.

Joseph Kotcka sent numerous copies of books and clippings to Thomas Merton, James Stewert, and others. He apparently donated these works as gifts to those whom he felt would benefit from reading them. His interests apparently focused on spiritual life. Kotcka also had an active interest in Slovak groups in the United States. Many of his donations were sent to our Lady of Gethsemani, Trappist, Ky and Our Lady of the Genessee, Piffard, New York both Cistercian monasteries. He also sent donations to several individuals in the film industry.
