Biographical History

Charles Vernon Culver was born in Ohio and attended Ohio Wesleyan University; he moved to Pennsylvania and settled in Reno, Venango County. He worked in private business, including the oil business, and represented Pennsylvania in the United States Congress. Bankrupt and imprisoned, he was acquitted after a lengthy trial, and returned to the oil business.
