Biographical History
Alma G. Stallworth was born in Little Rock, Ark. in 1932. She graduated from Highland Park Junior College and studied at Wayne State University and Merrill Palmer Institute. She won her first primary without the support of her party and became the youngest black female in the legislature. She was re-elected in 1972 with 97% of the vote. She is best known for introducing legislation dealing with child care licensing and nursing home inspection. She failed to win her bid for State Senate, and failed as a write-in candidate for her House seat.
