William Ashbrook Kellerman (1850-1908) was a U.S. botanist specializing in mycology. He was born on May 1, 1850, in Ashville, Ohio. Kellerman attended Cornell University and Polytechnic Institute (Zurich). He served as a professor of botany at the State College of Kentucky, Kansas State Agricultural College, and Ohio State University. Kellerman studied and published on effects of fungi on crops. He authored The Elements of Botany in 1883, and co-founded the Journal of Mycology. Kellerman was also interested in the plants of Guatemala, both fungi and vascular. Kellerman died of malaria in 1908 following a trip to Guatemala.
