Biographical History

Quincy, named after Josiah Quincy III (1772-1864), who served as the fifteenth president of Harvard from 1829 to 1845, opened in September 1959. It consists of three buildings: Old Quincy, New Quincy, and the 20 DeWolfe St. residence hall. As of 2001, Quincy House is the largest of the twelve undergraduate houses, with some 2,300 students and an additional number of resident tutors and faculty affiliates.
