Biographical History

The son of Col. Ephraim Williams (1691-1755), Elijah Williams was a Stockbridge and West Stockbridge, Mass., merchant, iron manufacturer, and proprietor of marble quarries.

He frequently dealt with the Van Schaack brothers, Henry and David, of Kinderhook, N.Y., and was a surveyor and purchaser of Indian lands in and around Stockbridge.
