Biographical History
Louis Bristol: B.A. Yale, 1835; civil engineer in Connecticut, New York, and Illinois, 1835-1840; studied law at the Yale Law School and admitted to the bar in 1843; left his legal practice in New Haven in 1857 and became a farmer.
William Bristol: B.A. Yale, 1798; admitted to the bar in 1800; member of the Connecticut State Senate, 1818-1819; appointed Judge of the Superior Court and Supreme Court of Errors, 1819; in 1826 appointed Judge of the District Court of the U.S.
William Brooks Bristol: B.A. Yale, 1825; studied law at the Yale Law School and with his father, William Bristol, practiced law in New Haven throughout his lifetime.
