Biographical History

Evan Pan Jones, 1834-1922, was one of the most interesting Welshmen of his time. A preacher, poet, satirist, and debater who was always getting into hot water. He attended two colleges in Wales and gained a Ph.D. degree at the University of Marburg, Germany. He was ordained in 1870 at Mostyn, Flintshire, where he remained a Congregational minister for the rest of his life.

He took great interest in the Land Nationalisation League and was a supporter of Michael D. Jones during the battle of the two constitutions .

Amongst his publications are : Oes gofion : neu, fraslun o hanes fy mywyd and Oes a gwaith y prif athraw y Parch. Michael Daniel Jones, Bala .
