Biographical History

C. Darwin Stolzenbach (b. 1914; changed last name to Fairweather in 1989) served 1961-1965 as Administrator of the National Capital Transportation Agency (NCTA), a predecessor of the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA); founded Metro 2001 (which carried out WMATA-funded Metro History project), 1979; and established the Institute for the Study of Transportation (IST), 1984.
