Edward E. Shaw, Stanford B.A. in economics 1965, joined the administrative staff of Stanford in the fall of 1965 as a contract administrator in the controller's office. In 1970 he became Assistant to the Vice President for Research, William F. Miller. When Miller was named Vice President and Provost in 1971, Shaw became his Executive Assistant. In 1975 he was named Associate Provost; his later positions included president of the Research Libraries Group, director of the Stanford Center for Information Technology, and associate provost for information systems at Stanford.

Edward E. Shaw, born November 8, 1942, Stanford B.A. in economics 1965, joined the administrative staff of Stanford in the fall of 1965 as a contract administrator in the controller's office.
