Biographical History

Eva Gore-Booth was an Irish poet, dramatist, and social activist. With her partner Esther Roper, Eva Gore-Booth worked for women's suffrage, peace, and Irish Independence. Gore-Booth was a lifelong friend of W.B. Yeats, and her sister, Constance Gore-Booth Markiewicz, was the first woman to be elected to the British House of Commons.
