Biographical History

Helen Campbell was the only child of mining magnate Amasa B. Campbell and his wife, Grace. Helen Campbell attended school at Brunot Hall, a private girls school in Spokane, and studied in Paris. She married William W. Powell in 1917. Upon her mother’s death in 1924, Mrs. Powell donated the Cutter-designed Campbell home to the Eastern Washington State Historical Society for use as a museum.
