James Barrett Brown, plastic surgeon, M.D. Washington University (St. Louis, MO), 1923. Brown was a pioneer in the development of plastic surgery in the United States during the early and mid 20th century.

Plastic surgeon, 1899-1971. Joined faculty of the Washington University School of Medicine in 1925. Named professor of maxillofacial surgery at the Washington University School of Dentistry in 1936 and professor of clinical surgery at the medical school in 1948. Chief of plastic surgery and senior plastic surgeon at Barnes and St. Louis Children's hospitals and the Washington University clinics; chief of the division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Washington University School of Medicine, 1955-1968.
