Civil war general and lawyer.
Detroit lawyer, served as colonel in the 10th Michigan Cavalry during the Civil War.
General Luther S. Trowbridge was born in Oakland County, Michigan. He attended Yale University in 1857, but left college before graduation to devote himself to a legal career. He served as Colonel of the Michigan Cavalry, 1862-65, and from 1856 to 1868 resided at Knoxville, Tennessee. He came to Detroit in 1868.
