Larry Kramer, playwright.
Larry Kramer (Yale, 1957) is an American playwright, author, public health advocate, and gay rights activist. He was a co-founder of the Gay Men's Health Crisis in the early 1980s, and founded the AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power (ACT UP) in 1987.
The original production of The normal heart opened at The Public Theater, New York, N.Y., on April 21, 1985.
