Biographical History
Doris Milner (February 18, 1920 - December 28, 2007) was a volunteer wilderness advocate from western Montana who was particularly concerned with the preservation of the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness, the Selway River, and particularly the Magruder Corridor area. She was a life-long member of the Montana Wilderness Association and also served as its president. She was successful in her efforts at preserving all of the Selway Wilderness and getting the Magruder Corridor added to the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness in 1980. She was also active in the struggle to set aside the Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness in Idaho in 1980. She was named one of ten Citizen Conservationists of the Year in 1978 by the American Motors Corporation.
