Biographical History
Ned Dalton Moore (b. Dec. 23, 1906, Guthrie Center, Iowa; d. Oct. 8, 1992), U.S. Army officer, graduated from the U.S. Military Academy in 1930. He served in the Philippines from 1935 to 1937, and during World War II, he was chief of staff, 101st Airborne Division, in the European Theater of Operations. After the War, he was assigned to Japan, and later served in Korea with the 19th Infantry Regiment and as chief of staff, IX Corps. He also served with the Military Assistance Advance Group in Japan from 1954 to 1956, then on the Army General Staff; and as director of personnel policy in the Office of the Secretary of Defense beginning in 1958.
