Biographical History

Rosa Parker was living in Pequot Lakes, Minnesota when she co-wrote the lyrics to her song, Take Me Back to Iowa, with Margaret Ball Dickson. She sent a lyric sheet to the Iowa State Dept. of History and Archives in 1945 requesting their assistance with the publication and promotion of the song. In 1947 Parker had her song recorded by the Dick Hill Orchestra with vocalist Jack Garvey. Music was written by Bob Carleton
