Biographical History

This Twiggs Co., GA, family moved to Cass Co., GA in 1848. Nathan Land (1812-1880), a farmer and lawyer, served as Cass (later Bartow) County Ordinary. He married Mourning (Mona) Ricks Arrington in 1838 and had nine children: 1) Harriet Ione, 2) Martha Delilah (Lila) who married William A. Chunn, 3) Elizabeth Temperance, 4) Mourning (Mona) R.A. who married her cousin, Henry Freeman Land, 5) John Thomas who married Sallie V. Faulk, 6) James Henry, 7) Nathan Freeman (Free), 8) Robert A. (Bobby), and 9) Susan Louise (Suzie) who married C.F. Price. Much of Nathan's Twiggs County land business was with the Solomon Family, cousins of the Lands.
