Biographical History
One of the early LDS mission presidents stationed in Copenhagen, Denmark, was Anthon Lorentzen Skanchy, who held the position from April 29, 1901 to December 6, 1904. A native of Norway, Skanchy moved to Utah after converting to the LDS faith but returned to Scandinavia to serve three missions. Skanchy died on April 19, 1914, in Logan, Utah, where he had been the Bishop of the Sixth Ward. Little is known about Moroni K. Petersen, the released missionary, except that he was born in Logan, Utah, on August 26, 1877, and died shortly after returning from his mission on September 3, 1905.
Mormon from Norway.
