J. Emory Barton was chief reporter for the U.S. Third Army at the war crimes trials following World War II. Barton reported the trials growing out of the atrocities at the Flossenbürg, Mauthausen, and Dachau concentration camps as well as the details of the Malmedy Massacre during the Battle of the Bulge, which occurred on 17 Dec. 1944.
