The Eastern Steamship Lines formed in 1912 by consolidating the companies which operated passenger and freight services from Boston easterly to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia and Saint John, New Brunswick, and to various points in Maine; southerly from Boston to New York; and included the New York to Portland Line.
