Biographical History
John A. Maher received law degrees from New York University in 1956 and 1957. After working in corporate law, he joined the Dickinson School of Law in 1973 teaching securities and trade, and was its dean from 1989 until 1994. He served as a commissioner of the Pennsylvania Securities Commission from 1997 through 2004.
