Biographical History

Louis Wasmer was a pioneer in radio broadcasting in Washington State. He built an experimental radio station in Seattle in 1907 and in 1925 came to Spokane where he began a long and successful career as a radio and television entrepreneur. His Spokane radio station holdings included KHQ, KREM, KGA, KSPO, and KFIO. He founded KREM television in Spokane. Wasmer was active in Republican politics and unsuccessfully sought the Republican gubernatorial nomination in 1944.
