Biographical History
Chronicler and poet of Valdivia.
Son of a well-known family, originally from Cádiz, which settled in Chile in the 18th century. He spent 30 years assembling the material for his Verdad en campaña, which eventually came to be known as the official history of Valdivia. He also wrote some rather undistinguished poetry, primarily dealing with the deaths of kings and local military achievements.
