The Connecticut affiliate of the American Civil Liberties Union, the Connecticut Civil Liberties Union ( CCLU ) was founded in 1949 as the New Haven Civil Liberties Council . The CCLU is a non-partisan, non-profit organization whose mission is to assure that the Bill of Rights and the rights guaranteed by the Connecticut Constitution are preserved.
