Physicist; born 1912 in Germany. PhD in solid state physics, 1950. Appointments include: Manager, semiconductor laboratory, Westinghouse Company in Paris, France, 1946-1952; Head, Quantum Physics Department, Bendix Research Laboratories, 1961-64; Rockwell International, 1966-69; consultant, 1970-. Author of several books and many articles, and holder of more than 60 patents in the fields of microwaves, semiconductors, power devices, solar cells, transistors, oscillators. Life Fellow of IEEE; Member emeritus, N.Y. Academy of Science.
