Biographical History

Oskars Pumpurs, town planner and architect, died in 1992, aged 72. Pumpurs was a practising advocate of ecologically sustainable development long before most people had heard of it and an early exponent of neighbourhood planning. He worked for the National Capital Development Commission and its predecessor, the Department of Town Planning of the Department of the Interior, during the period of Canberra's most prolific development from the 1950's to 1982.

From the description of Papers of Oskars Pumpurs., 1950-1982. 1950-1982. (Libraries Australia). WorldCat record id: 222187087
