Biographical History

Neuenschwander directed Genealogical Society's acquisition efforts in Central and Eastern Europe, 1977-1987.

Dennis B. Neuenschwander was sustained to the Second Quorum of the Seventy in April 1991. In October 1994, he was sustained to the First Quorum of the Seventy. He served as a counselor and as president of the Europe Area (1991-1994), as president of the Europe East Area (1995-1996), as counselor and president of the Utah South Area (1996-2000), as a member of the Presidency of the Seventy (2000-2004), as president of the Europe East Area (2004-2006), as assistant executive director in the Missionary Department (2006-2009), and as president of the Middle East/North Africa Area (2008-2009). Prior to his call as a General Authority, he served as president of the Austria Vienna East Mission (1987-1991), and before that he was the manager of acquisition work for Central and Eastern Europe for the Family History Department.
