Biographical History

John Floyd, 1769-1839, was a member of the Georgia State House of Representatives, a planter, army officer, and owner of Fairfield plantation in Camden County, Georgia. Floyd County was created in 1833 and named for him.

John McAllister & Son were manufacturers of whips, canes, spectacles, based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
