Biographical History
The Division of Resource Management was created in 1975 (Ch. 75-22) to assume the duties and functions of the Division of Interior Resources, which had been created in 1969 (Ch. 69-106, Laws) as part of the Dept. of Natural Resources. The Division is charged with the preservation, management, and protection of lands held by the state other than parks, recreational and wilderness areas. It develops plans and programs of coastal zone management and carries out the responsibilities of boundary determination. The Division promotes the development of an integrated system of waterways within the state and coordinates all agencies charged with the development of such waterways.
