Jennette B. Bradley was elected November 5, 2002 as Ohio's Lieutenant Governor with Governor Bob Taft. Lt. Governor Jennette Bradley was the first African-American woman to be elected as Lt. Governor in Ohio and in the nation's history. Lt. Governor Bradley also served as Director for the Commerce Department and as the Governor's liaison to county and local governments, to small businesses and as policy advisor for urban initiatives, community development and housing programs. Lt. Governor Jennette Bradley received her bachelor's degree in psychology from Wittenberg University in Ohio. Prior to being elected Lt. Governor, Bradley served 11 years as a City Council Member in Columbus. In addition to serving on City Council, Lt. Governor Jennette Bradley was a Senior Vice President for a major Ohio bank. In January 2005, Bradley resigned to accept the position of Treasurer of State and Bruce Johnson was appointed Lt. Governor.
