Biographical History

Buddy Boudreaux was born in Donaldsonville, La., on December 27, 1917, to Edward Boudreaux Sr. and Rena Landry Boudreaux. He attended public grammar and high schools in Baton Rouge, La. Boudreaux served in the U.S. Army Air Corps between 1943 and 1945, playing in a seven-piece jazz ensemble at officers' clubs, USO shows, and other venues in North Africa and Italy. After the war, he graduated from the University of California at Berkeley and returned to Baton Rouge, working for Exxon for 40 years. He was also a popular jazz musician in the Baton Rouge and New Orleans areas.
