Biographical History

Roger H. Stuewer was born on September 12, 1934 in Shawano, Wisconsin. He earned his B.S. in 1958, M.S. in 1964 and Ph.D. in 1968 from the University of Wisconsin. Dr. Stuewer joined the faculty at the University of Minnesota as an assistant professor in the school of physics in 1967 and in 1970, he was promoted to associate professor. From 1971-1972, Dr. Stuewer was an associate professor of the history of science at Boston University. He returned to the University of Minnesota in 1972 as associate professor of the history of science and technology in the school of physics and astronomy; he was promoted to professor in 1974. From 1980-1981, Dr. Stuewer served as acting director of the Charles Babbage Institute (CBI).
