Biographical History

Thomas J. Mabry was born in Carlisle County, Kentucky in 1884. He was founder and publisher of the Clovis Journal (1909-1915). A Democrat, he served as a member of the New Mexico State Senate (1912-1917), a district attorney for the 2nd Judicial District (1936), and as a New Mexico Supreme Justice (1939-1946). Mabry also served two consecutive terms as the Governor of New Mexico, (1947-1950).
