Biographical History
Tom Mahoney (1905-1981) was a journalist and author. A graduate of the School of Journalism, University of Missouri, he worked as reporter and editor of several newspapers: "El Paso Post", 1927-1930, where he covered the Escobar Rebellion; United Press in Texas and Kansas, 1930-1934; and "Buffalo Times", 1934-1936. He was associate editor of "Look", 1937-1939, and "Fortune", 1943-1945, magazines. In the 1940s and 1950s he worked for Young and Rubicam and Dudley-Anderson-Yutzy. He wrote numerous non-fiction books including: "The Great Merchants" (1955), "The Merchants of Life" (1959), "The Story of George Romney" (1960), and "The Longest Auto Race" (1966) which was co-authored with George Schuster.
