Biographical History
William Robeson Holloway (1836-1911) was born in Richmond, Wayne County, Ind. He married Eliza Burbank in 1858 and in 1861 began working as Governor Oliver P. Morton's private secretary. In 1864 he invested in the "Indianapolis Journal" and was appointed state printer in 1865. He returned to the position as Morton's private secretary in 1867, and in 1869 became postmaster of Indianapolis. Holloway ran the "Indianapolis Times" from 1880-1886 and became involved with the Indianapolis Cable Street Railway Company in 1887. He worked for the Republican party in the 1890s.
