Biographical History

Captain William H. Fields served with the V Amphibian Corps of the United States Marine Corps during World War II. After seeing combat in the latter months of 1943, Fields was transferred to Hawaii, where he served in an administrative capacity until the end of the war. During his time in Hawaii, he received a commendation for his work.

Charles L. Bowden was mayor of Macon, Georgia, from 1938-1947. He and his wife, Urney Fields, had two daughters, Charlotte and Patricia ("Patsy").
