Biographical History

Pioneer Tucson pharmacist; Andrew's father, George Martin, Sr. established the Martin Drug Store in Tucson in 1882. Andrew Martin expanded the store to eight locations in Tucson and Casa Grande. He was active in the Democratic Party, served as secretary to Senator Carl Hayden in Washington, D.C. in 1912, and served in the Arizona State Senate from 1914 to 1916. In 1910, he organized a National Guard company in Tucson; and later pushed organization of the American Legion in Arizona.
