Biographical History
Thomas Perkins Abernethy was a teacher who attended the College of Charleston (1908-1912) and received his M.A. and Ph. D. from Harvard University (1914-1916). He taught at Marion Institute (1912-1914, 1919), Woman's College of Alabama (1916-1917), and served as a second lieutenant during World War I.
Historian and chairman of the University of Virginia Corcoran Department of History.
