Mormon pioneer.
English convert to the LDS church, lived in Nauvoo and in Winter Quarters before coming to Salt Lake City in 1849.
Charles Lambert was born on 30 August 1816 in Kirk Deithton, England, to Charles Lambert and Sarah Greaves. Lambert converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1843, moved to Nauvoo, Illinois, in 1844, migrated to Utah in 1849, and served on missions in England in 1870 and 1882. He also worked on the Nauvoo Temple as a stone-cutter. On 28 November 1844 he married Mary Alice Cannon in Nauvoo, Illinois. Mary Alice was the sister of church apostle George Q. Cannon and Leonora Cannon Taylor, wife of future church president John Taylor. Charles Lambert died on 2 May 1892 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Charles Lambert was born in Kirk Deighton, York, Yorkshire, England on 30 August 1816. He became a stone-cutter and began working on various railways at age nineteen. In 1843, he converted to the LDS Church and moved to Nauvoo, Illinois, in 1844. He married Mary Alice Cannon that same year. He met Joseph and Hyrum Smith, worked on the Nauvoo temple, moved to Missouri, then to Salt Lake City. He was president of the 23rd quorom of Seventy and served as clerk in the Seventh Ward for many years. He died in 1892.
