Biographical History

Charles Ffoulkes was a lecturer on arms and medieval subjects for the University of Oxford. He later became curator of the Tower Armouries and the Imperial War Museum. Harold Arthur Dillon, 17th Viscount Dillon, was curator of the Tower Armouries and wrote the preface to Ffoulkes' edition of "Gaya's Traite des Armes 1678".
