Biographical History
Agriculture was offered as a course of study 1871-1875. The College of Agriculture was established in 1876, but was absorbed as a degree program in 1877 into the newly formed Industrial College and remained part of that unit until 1908. In that year the College of Agriculture was established once again. Since 1974 the Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources has served as an umbrella for several academic units at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln including the agriculture college. In June 1990 the name of the college was changed to the College of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources.
