Biographical History

The Alabama Constortium for the Development of Higher Education (ACDHE), which is funded by the Ford Foundation, is a consortium of Historically Black Colleges and Universities in Alabama founded to enable the member institutions to expand and enrich their educational programs and, where feasible, to economize their operations; the ACDHE evolved into the Alabama Center for Higher Education (ACHE) which is still a consortium of the HBCUs in Alabama.
