Biographical History

Ursula Rita Casey Smith (1902-1999) was a member of the first graduating class of the College of Saint Rose. Her sister, Sister Rita Agnes Casey (1893-1960) was one of the founders of the College, a member of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. Three of her daughters attended the College as well: Sister Rose Regina Smith, the first child of an alumna to attend the College herself, Ann Smith Malory (class of 1951), and Ursula Smith McKegney (class of 1954). Her husband, Edward "Duke" Smith, was among the first men to attend the College.
