Biographical History

Thomas Moody Kimball (1810-1884) brought his family and slaves from his native North Carolina to Texas in 1838, when it was a republic, settling first in Cass County and later in Hunt County east of Greenville, Texas. Over the years, he became a prominent pioneer citizen, helped organize a rural church and served a term as a tax assessor after the Civil War.
