Biographical History

The American Guild of Organists (A.G.O.) was founded by a group of English and American Church musicians. In 1896 the Guild was chartered by the Board of Regents of the University of the State of New York, and was given the authority to grant titles of Associate and Fellow to those of its members who successfully pass the required examinations. The Eastern New York Chapter was organized in 1920.
