Biographical History
The Girls' Week Advisory Council was a 15-member volunteer agency sponsored by the Cincinnati Public Recreation Commission to provide recognition for the civic activities of girls in Cincinnati and Hamilton County. The first Girls' Week was held in 1930. Originally held as a week-long Hobby Fair, the program changed in the 1950s to a day-long program, "Girl and Her City" or "Girl and Her Government," focusing on a mock City Council election held by the girls. The program was disbanded in 1977.
