Biographical History

Helen Adele Johnson Whiting (1885-1959), pioneer in elementary progressive education, member of the White House Council on Child Health and Protection and the National Conference on the Fundamental Problems in the Education of Negroes. She also wrote several books and articles for black teachers and children.
