Biographical History

Biographical Note: Robert H. Roy was professor of industrial engineering, The Johns Hopkins University.

He was born in Baltimore, MD in 1900. After receiving the B.E. degree from Hopkins in 1928, he joined Waverly Press, Inc. in Balto. At the Press, he was actively involved in engineering research and development of new equipment in the printing field. In 1949, Roy returned to teach at Hopkins. In 1953, he was appointed Dean of the School of Engineering, a post he held until his retirement in 1973. Professor Roy was widely published in the fields of engineering science and technology. His texts include "The Administrative Process" (1958), "Operations Research and Systems Engineering" (1964) and "Horizons for a Professions" (1967). Robert H. Roy lives in Baltimore.
